The Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) has condemned Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s controversial remarks on Sindh, terming them “factually incorrect, historically distorted, and an affront to Pakistani Sindhi Hindus.”
The PHC had set three-day ultimatum for Singh to retract his incendiary statement. Following the expiry of the deadline, the PHC finalised a formal declaration during a high-level meeting which was later signed by participants of a large demonstration held outside the Shiv Mandir, led by Tara Chand Lassi.
According to the PHC, Patron-in-Chief Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani will submit the signed declaration to the Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad to formally register the community’s protest with the Modi government.
The declaration states that Sindhi Hindus are “loyal citizens of Pakistan” and ancient inhabitants of the region, deeply rooted in Sindh’s civilisation, language and culture for millennia. “Our identity is Pakistani Sindhi Hindu,” the statement reads, rejecting what it calls India’s “negative and politically motivated misuse” of the name Sindh.Latest News, Breaking News & Top News Stories | The Express TribuneOur CorrespondentRead More
