The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Friday announced the results of the Intermediate Part-II annual examinations 2026, with students from government institutions securing top positions in multiple groups.
BIEK Chairman Professor Ghaffar Muhammad Lakho said the top two positions in the pre-medical group were clinched by students of a government college, calling it a positive sign of growing confidence in public-sector education.
According to the results, Hafsa Khan of BAMM PECHS Government College for Women secured first position in the pre-medical group with 1,011 marks out of 1,100. Her classmate Huda Sarwar followed with 1,007 marks, while Amina Aziz of Bahria College, Karsaz, stood third with 1,004 marks. Controller of Examinations Zarina Rashid said 23,613 candidates had registered for the pre-medical exams, of whom 23,007 appeared and 14,134 passed, taking the success ratio to 61.43%.
In the Arts Private Group, all top three positions were secured by female candidates. Rafia Shoaib Jaliwala topped with 925 marks, while Almas Fatima and Khansa Raza jointly secured second position with 902 marks each. Amra Shoaib Jaliwala clinched third position with 901 marks.
In the Home Economics Group, Azka Imran of Rana Liaquat Ali Khan Government College of Home Economics secured first position with 973 marks out of 1,200. Aila Anwar stood second with 968 marks, followed by Yamna Shariq with 953 marks.
Among Special Candidates (Arts Regular), Syed Hammad Ali secured first position with 1,004 marks, followed by Taha Ahmed with 990 marks, and Maryam Bibi with 985 marks. Officials said the pass percentage stood at 50.04% in Arts Private, 52.47% in Home Economics, and 95.87% among special candidates.
