‘Hyd could be among most climate-vulnerable cities by 2030’

Environmental experts have warned that Hyderabad may emerge as one of the most climate-vulnerable cities by 2030 due to rising temperatures, water scarcity, and increasing climate irregularities if urgent actions were not taken.

Speaking at a seminar organized here on Friday by SAFWCO in connection with the World Environment Day, they said heat waves had already set records in the city.

The SAFWCO’s chief Suleman Abro pointed out that the month of May in had recorded the second highest temperatures during the same month in Hyderabad as per the global climate monitoring agencies.

He noted that UN Chief António Guterres had warned that the planet was heating at an alarming pace, while climate experts predict that rising sea temperatures could lead to new global heat records within the next five years.Latest News, Breaking News & Top News Stories | The Express TribuneAPPRead More
