Karachi likely to receive light rain till July 15

Light rain is expected in Karachi over the next three days as moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea continue to affect parts of the country, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Monday.

According to the PMD’s Early Warning Centre, Karachi is likely to experience stronger-than-usual winds, with light rain or drizzle expected on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The city’s minimum temperature is forecast to remain between 28°C and 30°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to range between 33°C and 35°C. Morning humidity is likely to remain between 70% and 80%, falling to 55% to 65% by the evening.

The Met Office said moist currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper and central parts of the country, while a westerly weather system is also influencing northern regions.

Under the prevailing weather system, most districts of Sindh are expected to remain hot and humid. However, dust storms and thunderstorms accompanied by rain are likely on Monday in Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar districts.
