The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Balochistan has formally launched an investigation into alleged corruption, financial irregularities and possible mismanagement in development projects undertaken by the Balochistan Irrigation Department.
According to official sources, the ACE has sent a letter to the Secretary of the Irrigation Department, directing the department to provide detailed financial and administrative records related to several major irrigation projects across the province.
The investigation covers the budget, expenditures and implementation details of the Nasirabad Canal System, while financial and administrative records of the Kachhi Canal, Pat Feeder Canal and Kirthar Canal projects have also been sought.
Officials said the inquiry will further examine expenditures incurred on the rehabilitation and repair of protective embankments and watercourse lining projects carried out after the devastating floods of 2022. The probe aims to determine whether public funds allocated for these projects were utilized in accordance with approved procedures and whether any financial or administrative irregularities occurred during their execution.Latest News, Breaking News & Top News Stories | The Express TribuneSardar Hameed KhanRead More
